4am is an indepandant community interest company (c.i.c.)
C.I.C. means we are a not for profit organization any monies made must be re-invested into the project.
4am delivers training in the arts. This includes music, art, drama, film making, ceramics, outsider art, photography and life skills. The project has two clear objectives. One to offer an innovative training programme for non school attendees, in a safe and supportive environment. The aim of the training is to work with 14 year olds and upward delivering easy and accessible programs at an achievable pace. The end result is that our students will have recorded an albums worth of material, designed a CD cover and label, built a web page to promote their work, made a video to promote their music, set their tunes up on You-Tube and write and record their own radio show which will be broadcast on a free access Internet arts community radio. Other students will develop and concentrate on the visual arts building a portfolio to show potential employers once they enter the job market. We will also have students who will concentrate on Life Skills, developing their interview, body language and job search techniques.
This will deliver Arts, Drama and Music to people in our local community who would not naturally gravitate towards further education in the arts - providing a gateway to further education potential, employment potential and the creative arts, for those who have limited opportunities or budget. 4a.m. also offers any member of the community help and advice with regards to the developing, display, exhibiting, promoting and publicity of art events and music events within the community and surrounding area.
